This year, within Curro Nelspruit’s top 19 candidates who achieved an average of 75% and higher, eight students excelled with an A aggregate of 80% and above.
At the pinnacle of these achievements is Carla Louw, the dux learner, who earned an impressive average of 90%, including seven distinctions. Carla also received an IEB commendable achievement, as she was in the top 5% in the country in five subjects.

We are delighted to inform you that the Class of 2024 achieved a 100% pass rate and a 98.5% Bachelor’s Degree pass. Sixty-seven scholars wrote the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination in 2024 and achieved 99 subject distinctions in total.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 on their outstanding achievements in the final Grade 12 IEB exams. Our Dux scholar of 2024; Anna Phillips (2024 head girl), achieved seven distinctions for all her seven subjects written. In addition, Anna had the distinction of being awarded the IEB’s Outstanding Achievement for achieving within the top 5% in six or more subjects and achieving a rating level of seven in Life Orientation. Unam Sefani (2024 head boy) also achieved seven distinctions for his seven subjects written. Penryn College placed students in the top 1% of candidates for the subjects of: Life Orientation and Siswati First Additional Language.
The IEB also offered Further Study (FS) examinations, previously known as Advanced Programmes, which now form part of the IEB’s International Senior Certificate (ISC) qualification. Three of our scholars achieved outstanding results in Further Studies: Mathematics. Anna Phillips achieved an A (92%) in Calculus and Algebra and a B (78%) in Finance.
Siyanda Mahlahlela achieved five distinctions for his IEB NSC exams and an A (84%) in Calculus and Algebra. Bonginkosi Thwala achieved three distinctions for his IEB NSC exams and an A (92%) in Calculus and Algebra.

Rob Ferreira High School’s Class of 2024 made the school proud, improving on the matric exam results of the year before. Obtaining a pass rate of 98.7%, the 2024 group of matrics obtained a bachelor’s pass rate of 70%, with a further 24% earning a diploma pass.
This means 94% of the Rob Ferreira Class of 2024 can go off to study at institutions of higher education.

Nelspruit Private College’s top learner is Melissa Bandile Mathebula. Melissa started her secondary school at Nelspruit Private College in 2019.
She has always occupied a leadership position in her early years at school. In the 2024 Metropolitan Group of Schools Prize Awards, Melissa emerged the best learner and brought home two dux awards (floating trophies) and won a series of academic awards, which included certificates, medals and trophies.
Finally, in the NSC 2024 exams, she was the top achiever with six distinctions, two level Bs and one level C.

Hoërskool Lydenburg (LHS) has once again achieved a 100% matric pass rate.
The school managed to keep its winning streak of success following 2023’s same result. The matric Class of 2024 managed to match the standard set by the 2023 class with several outstanding achievements accompanying the results.
The matrics obtained no fewer than 127 distinctions. These include four learners with seven distinctions, one learner with six distinctions, two with five distinctions, three with four distinctions, seven with three distinctions, 13 with two distinctions and 24 obtaining one distinction each.

Calvin College’s Matric Class of 2024 obtained a 100% pass rate during last year’s matric exam.

Calvin College also believes in giving back to the community. During last year’s Nelson Mandela Day, learners launched and spear-headed a clean-up project in the area surrounding the school.
