Far from being an extremist, I am a moderate Democrat. I voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012. You dislike what I say about the importance of genes, IQ, and race, but you cannot refute it, because you know it is true. I do want to understand what you're trying to tell me, but I doubt it has any value. Your opinions are based on negative emotions.

There are many that have already raised issues with The Bell Curve, a book you claim is true but you've also not read, has been denounced by many ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bell_Curve#Criticisms ). Another issue raise about the authors was they didn't do a pre-release for review, which leads me to believe that the authors knew there were problems with the book and their research.

 

I have read other stuff by Charles Murray and Richard Herrnstein, so I understand what they are saying, and I can express it in my own words. What they are saying is that intelligence is the single most important factor in determining academic and economic success, and other desirable factors in life. Intelligence is primarily determined genetically. Members of some races tend to have more intelligence than members of other races, for reasons that are again genetic. I see no reason to question any of that. The failure of programs like Head Start and No Child Left Behind would seem to confirm those assertions.

We should keep in mind that what Charles Murray and Richard Herrnstein have claimed to be true is by no means counter intuitive. They have simply provided scientific foundations for what was commonly understood to be true until the Second World War made those beliefs unfashionable, and even taboo, without disproving them. After the revelations of the Holocaust fewer people wanted to believe that innate individual and average racial differences mattered, or even existed.

This is known as the guilt by association fallacy. In the guilt by association fallacy a belief is discredited by associating it with an individual or a group that is widely hated. Discrediting heriditarianism by associating it with Nazism does not disprove heriditarianism; it is an appeal to emotion on a subject where a dispassionate analysis of the facts is necessary.

First trimester abortions should always be on demand and even fast tracked as the 12th or 13th week approaches. And yes it is hypocritical for pro life people to allow for abortions for rape and incest as those fetuses are just as alive as any other. What I’m saying is that there does come a time when the living human being being carried is human enough to be protected. If we make the big bright line birth, then how does that make sense as the baby is not substantially different even a few weeks before and after birth. Where is the real line?
